Review the quality of incoming business enquiries
Practical answer: Review the quality of incoming business enquiries
Review a small selection of recent enquiries within the approved business process. Look for missing purpose, unclear timing and repeated requests for context. Identify whether the form or introductory guidance could make those points clearer. Do not infer sales performance or customer satisfaction from a few process observations.
A quarter-end review should examine the usefulness of business conversations, not simply their volume. March 2024 offers a practical checkpoint for checking whether enquiries arrive with the information needed for a relevant response.

An illustrative example
For example, several hypothetical supplier introductions omit the category supplied. A clearer prompt can ask for that category before requesting a lengthy capability document. Check subsequent enquiries to see whether the recipient can understand the subject more easily. Record the observation and next review date, keeping the change small enough to assess.
Three points to take into the conversation
- Review recent enquiry examples
- Identify missing context
- Test a clearer prompt
Before progressing the conversation, check that the purpose, current information, responsible contact and next review date are clear. For a corporate-information, supplier or partnership enquiry, contact EJN Services through its enquiry page.
